From a freedom of information request we have just learned Glasgow City Council only spoke to *just* 69 people over *13 years* to come up with its bought housing plans. We have also learned that chief among those people's concerns about the Council's proposals were that the Council was prioritising bought housing instead of public housing.
With the first stage of the sell off of Collina Street set to go ahead on the 15th of January we are hosting an online 'townhall' meeting about what SHOULD happen to Collina Street.
We have formally invited the Council's head of Housing, Patrick Flynn, who is responsible for the site, as well as all three local Councillors, elected politicians and candidates, together with current residents in the Maryhill Locks area who are living 'after the plans' with their consequences. Living Rent 'Still Game for The Valley' tenant campaigners will also put their case.
We want to hear from fellow Maryhill residents and neighbours about what should happen. This is a key opportunity to put the community's case, especially given that so little interest was taken by the Council over 13 years into what people actually thought.
