Living Rent members are working tirelessly to stop evictions. The Coronavirus Act 2020 'eviction ban' did not stop landlords from pursuing court orders nor did it prevented sheriff officers from carrying out those court orders. The current full eviction ban in level 3 and 4 areas, won by Living Rent, is not in effect in level 2 areas. An evictions crisis is on the horizon. Simultaneously, raid by the Home Office have restarted in Glasgow. By training up and being ready to resist eviction whether by the Sheriff Officer or the Immigration Officer, Living Rent members can stop displacement from our communities.

When evictions are set to go ahead, we need well-organised community support, on the ground and at the door, to make the Officers turn around.
