With governments in Westminster and Holyrood failing to deliver, and mainstream political parties tumbling in the polls, the far right is gaining ground electorally and building support in working class areas.

Recently in Falkirk, a huge number of people joined protests organised by the far right against hotels used to house asylum seekers in Scotland saying they stand against uncontrolled illegal immigration and are here for justice & safety with slogans such as ‘Scotland first; protect our kids; stop the boats’.

Here in Glasgow, the largest asylum dispersal area outside London, the council has claimed that the asylum system risks 'damaging social cohesion’ with homeless refugees putting ‘unprecedented pressure’ on Glasgow services.
