Upcoming Events

Here are our upcoming events

  • Govan & Ibrox Group campaign planning

Members in Govan and Ibrox have been active in the area since the summer. The group has won a number of victories already and has grown rapidly to more than 120 members. But we're only just getting started.

We have postponed our branch launch, but instead join us on Saturday 1st April at 11am for a campaign planning session where we will pick our campaign for the next couple of months and then do some campaign planning training.

Whether you're a private tenant, social tenant or homeowner, whether you've stayed in Govan for decades or you've just moved here, it's up to all of us to fight for everything our area needs. When we come together to tackle the issues we share, we're so much stronger for it.

Anyone who lives in Greater Govan is welcome. Let's build neighbourhood power.

  • Join this first event for people of colour in Living Rent to share stories and experiences.

We know that all the problems we face in regards to our housing (high rents, landlords harassment, lack of repairs, mould etc) are exacerbated for women, LGBTQIA+ people, people with disability, migrants or people of colour.

As a union, we are committed to support our members to address these systemic oppressions as we campaign for better rights and services for our members.

Come to this internal event for Living Rent members who are people of colour, which will be a space to meet other members, share experiences and stories and brainstorm next steps.

The event will last 1h30 and it'll be online. It will be supported by Ellie Mundiany, anti-racist trainer and Emma Saunders, national organiser. There will be a break and we will have different group activities. If you can't attend but are interested in events for people of colour in Living Rent, please message Emma on Emma [email protected]

Living Rent Paisley are the newest group of Living Rent, Scotlands Tenants Union. We’re building our membership of all tenures in all neighbourhoods across Paisley as we build the power we need to fight for fair, safe and affordable housing for all.

A presentation of Living Rent, Scotland’s tenants’ union, exploring their structure, their philosophy, and their activism.
Through Autumn and Winter 2021/22 a team from Collective Voices followed members of neighbourhood branches and documented their work as they took action and built working class power in their communities.  Get to grips with the background to our current housing crisis, see the scope of the work that union members have been doing in nearby Glasgow and be inspired to get a branch going here in Paisley.

Everyone Welcome so bring a friend!

The venue is up a flight of stairs with no access to a lift. Unfortunately we were unable to secure a space with wheelchair accessibility. We assure you that we will make this a top priority in future. If you'd love to join but won't manage with the stairs reach out to us to see if we can make it a hybrid event with some zoom possibilities.

Kids are welcome but please let us know if and how many you are planning to bring so we can organise a little entertainment for them too.

We'll have simple refreshments and snacks available on the night.

    See you there!
