Tynecastle - Government ignores the community but we will not be silent.
- Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM
- Tynecastle Highschool, McLeod Street, Gorgie in Edinburgh, United Kingdom
Saturday 11th February 11 - 1pm outside Tynecastle High SchoolWe are holding an public action outside Tynecastle High School at 11 - 1pm Saturday 11th February - come along to share your views about PBSA and your vision for better housing in Gorgie!Last week the purpose built student accomodation development at the former Tynecastle High School by S1 Developments was approved.
Though we won in September when the council rejected the development, the government has approved the development, going over the community and the council’s heads.
The Gorgie/Dalry branch have been campaigning against this proposed development for years and it is so clear that the community is against more unaffordable purpose built student accommodation. read more here.
Our members are students, local residents, families and people who have been living in the area for years and overwhelmingly everyone rejects more PBSA in our area.
The planning process is obtuse, hard to navigate and inaccessible to those in the community and then even when we win at the council level, it is undemocratically overruled by the Scottish Government Reporter. We will continue to fight for our communities and for housing we can live in.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME ON SATURDAY - COME ON DOWN! -
