  • Govan & Ibrox Branch Meeting October

    Join your neighbours at Govan & Ibrox's monthly branch meeting!

    Every month, members in Govan & Ibrox gather to plan for the next month’s activities and debrief issues that have come up from the previous month. These monthly meetings are a great opportunity to get involved in your local union, meet fellow members and get active. Come along and bring a neighbour.

    Please RSVP below so we have an idea of how many members are coming.

    At each meeting we cover: national and local updates, plan activities and work together on our campaigns. 

    Accessibility: The space is wheelchair accessible. Kids are welcome and are at their parent or guardian’s responsibility. If you have translation needs or other accessibility needs let us know.

    Time, dates and regularity  Govan & Ibrox Meetings are monthly on the 1st full week of each month, Wed at 6.30pm

  • Gorgie/Dalry October Branch Meeting

    Thursday 5th October, St Brides Orwell Terrace 



    Come along to Gorgie Dalry's monthly branch meeting to discuss how we can build power in the area and win meaningful changes in the area and our homes. This meeting is open to anyone that lives in the area. Branch meetings are on the first full week of each month, Thursday at 6pm. 

    This Meetings Focus will be

    New Deal for Tenants National Campaign 
    - City wide campaigns
    - Local Outreach and Action Plans 
    - Public Loos 

    Public toilets are an essential service that benefit everyone. Currently, there are no public toilets in the local area and we need your help to and run the branch’s campaign! Right now we are focusing on getting signatures on the petition and reaching out to other groups that will be affected by this. Get in touch with us if you are interested or have ideas! 

    Accessibility
    Kids welcome. If you would like specialised childcare so you can focus on the meeting, let us know and we can organise that. 
    Wheelchair accessible. If you require translation or have any other accessibility needs please let us know.

  • Lochend October Member Defence Session

    Come along to our next local member defence session!

    Our member defence sessions are where members come together to support each other resolve housing issues, winning repairs, stopping rent increases, halting evictions and improving our housing conditions. 

    Meetings are open to anyone with housing issues or any member who wants to work with fellow members to win real changes to our homes and grow the union. If you want to work on your issue with other members, you need to join as a member, come along to find out what that means or see our join page.

    RSVP to come along and if you have your own issue contact us beforehand, and please bring any relevant documentation e.g. notice to quit, tenancy agreement, letter from landlord.

  • Member Defence Meeting - Fountainbridge

    Tuesday 10th October 6pm at Fountain Cafe, 111 Grove Street 

    Information on our member defence meetings.
    Member defence is how we can real win changes in our homes and blocks. Its where members come together to win repairs, stop rent increases, stop evictions and improve our immediate conditions by taking action together. All are welcome, no experience necessary.

    At each meeting we cover: national and local updates; training on member defence and work on our members issues. If you would like something to be added to the agenda contact before hand. 

    Accessibility: room wheelchair accessible - there is a disabled access toilet but the room is small so access is not easy. Kids welcome to come and also take part, responsibility is the parents. If you have translation needs or other accessibility needs let us know. For examples if you cannot make in person meetings let us know and we will find another solution.

    Time, dates and regularity
    Member Defence meetings in Fountainbridge are open to all members across the city. They are on the 2nd and 4th full week of each month, Tuesday at 6pm - 7.30pm. They are open to people who have issues and those who want to work with fellow members to win real changes to our homes and grow the union. 

    There are meetings in Leith on 2nd and 4th full week Wednesday evenings 6.30pm at The Wee Hub, Ocean Terminal or Lochend, Ripple Centre times and dates tbc email emily.donnell[email protected], if you are based nearer that end of town. see livingrent.org/events

They are bi-monthly on the 2nd and 4th full week of each month, Wednesday at 6.30pm - 8pm. They are open to people who have issues and those who want to work with fellow members to win real changes to our homes and grow the union. 

    Where is the wee hub? The Wee Hub is at the back of Ocean Terminal/ on the right when you come in through the front entrance. 

    Can't make this meeting?  There are meetings in Fountainbridge on 2nd and 4th full week Tuesday evenings 6pm at Fountain Cafe on Grove Street and also in Lochend, Ripple Centre time changes (email [email protected]) if you are based nearer thaose ends of town or the day suits better. see livingrent.org/events
