In Edinburgh, Mid Market tenants with C~urb psl have been hit with another rent increase, pushing these "affordable homes" closer to the sky high prices we are seeing in the private rented sector. Thanks to landlords and developers successfully lobbying the Scottish Government into making Mid Market Rentals exempt from the rent controls coming into place in 2027, as well as Edinburgh Council having made the decision NOT to increase Local Housing Allowance rates this year, C~urb tenants have been left with little to no protections. A significant proportion of C~urb residents are vulnerable, disabled, or otherwise unable to increase their income to keep pace with these rises.

We need homes for people, not for profit. Let’s put our community first and remind C~urb psl of their responsibility to provide affordable homes, rather than lining the pockets of greedy landlords and developers. Now is the time to act. Sign this petition to tell C~urb to stop the rent increase and protect their tenants!
By signing, you give Living Rent permission to voice your objection to C~urb's rent increases. You will receive an email when that happens, but you do not need to take any further action.
We are asking C~urb psl for:
- A cancellation of the rent increase due to come into force in July 2026.
- A review of all rent prices and affordability for low-income families and those on state benefits.
- A clear, itemised written breakdown of all service charges included in the monthly rent, made available routinely to any tenant who requests one. While we acknowledge that there is no statutory obligation on C~urb to provide this, basic transparency is a matter of respect for tenants who pay for services they have no say over procuring.
- A meeting between Group Commercial Director, Colin Culross, the tenants, and Living Rent representatives before 1 July 2026 to discuss the demands above and agree a path forward.
