  • Newington Meadows Meeting February

    Thursday 9th February, 6pm at Southside Community Centre 




    Come along to Newington/Meadows monthly group meeting to discuss how we can build power in the area and win meaningful changes in the area and our homes. This meeting is open to anyone that lives in the area. Meetings are on the first full week of each month, Thursday at 6pm. 

    We are currently focusing on getting out and speaking to people in our local area about our union, finding issues and focusing on member defence. Meeting is open to everyone, if you have any questions get in touch at [email protected] or message your chair Josh Brown who is the members whatsapp/slack.

    Accessibility 
    Kids welcome. If you would like specialised childcare so you can focus on the meeting, let us know and we can organise that. 
    If you require translation or have any other accessibility needs please let us know.

  • Leith Meeting February

    Thursday 9th February, 6.30pm at Argonaut Books.

    Come along to Leith's monthly branch meeting to discuss how we can build power in the area and win meaningful changes in the area and our homes. This meeting is open to anyone that lives in the area. Branch meetings are on the first full week of each month, Thursday at 6.30pm. 

    This Meetings Focus will be
    - Introduction to Living Rent 
    - Light up Leith Links - making sure the council listens and acts

    Accessibility
    Kids welcome, there is wifi and lots of books and chairs. If you would like specialised childcare so you can focus on the meeting, let us know and we can organise that. 
    Wheelchair accessible and wheelchair accessible toilets. If you require translation or have any other accessibility needs please let us know. 

    If you cannot make it to the meeting but want to get active in the public toilet campaign, national work on tenancy rights, member defence work or have an issue you want to solve, contact [email protected] or your local Secretary Georgia who is on the members whatsapp and slack

  • Fountainbridge Member Defence Meeting February_1

    Tuesday 14th February 6pm Fountain Cafe, 111 Grove Street 



    Member defence is how we can real win changes in our homes and blocks. Its where members come together to win repairs, stop rent increases, stop evictions and improve our immediate conditions by taking action together. 
    All are welcome, no experience necessary. Each meeting is unique, but we'll be going over cases, learning negotiation skills and strategy planning. If you would like something to be added to the agenda contact before hand. 

    Recent wins include £900 rent bac and boiler repair/ stopped rent increase + boiler repair/ delayed rent increase + mould fix!

They are on the 2nd and 4th full week of each month, Tuesday at 6pm - 7.30pm. They are open to people who have issues and those who want to work with fellow members to win real changes to our homes and grow the union. 

    There are meetings in Leith on 2nd and 4th full week Wednesday evenings 6.30pm at Bundits Bar in Leith, if you are based nearer that end of town. see livingrent.org/events
