Do you live in Gorgie/Dalry and care about your community? Join us in fighting for a fairer vision of housing for tenants and residents who live here!
Living Rent Gorgie/Dalry branch was founded in January 2020. We established ourselves as a mix of private, council, social tenants, shared owners and homeowners. We launched our branch officially after a year of growth in December 2020.
We are passionate about fighting to keep Gorgie Dalry fair, secure and a great place to live! We do this by running local campaigns and defending local tenants when they have problems with their landlord.
Since our founding, we have fought against rent increases for residents in Dunedin Canmore, campaigned (and won) against the old Tynecastle High School being turned into expensive student accommodation when we need social housing before the decision was overturned by the government.
We are currently fighting against rent increases and members are active in the city-wide campaign to ensure money from the tourist tax goes into social housing.
Our branch meetings are currently held on Thursday on the first full week of the month at 6pm at St Brides, 10 Orwell Terrace, Edinburgh EH11 2DZ.
