Govan and Ibrox

Do you live in Govan and Ibrox and care about your community? Join us in fighting for a fairer vision of housing for tenants and residents who live here!

Living Rent Govan and Ibrox branch was launched in June 2023. We established ourselves as a mix of private, council, social tenants, shared owners and homeowners.

We are passionate about fighting to keep Govan and Ibrox fair, secure and a great place to live! We do this by running local campaigns and defending local tenants when they have problems with their landlord.

Since our founding, we have fought a campaign to fix the potholes on the pavement outside Portal Arts and within days of holding an action, the council fixed the pavement. We have also fought a campaign to get Wheatley to sort out the mice problem in Copland Quadrant. Mice were running riot and Wheatley were refusing to take action. Members have also been active in the city wide campaigns to fight against mould and damp and against the Mears evictions of refugees.

Our branch meetings are currently held on Wednesday on the first full week of the month at 6.30pm at Clyde Community Hall, Whitefield Road on the corner of Fairley Street.
