Light Up Govanhill

Sign this petition calling for streets lights to be fixed in Govanhill.

Members from Living Rent Govanhill branch have counted over 40 broken street lights in the greater Govanhill area. This is unacceptable!
Cuts by Glasgow City Council to essential budgets have caused even basic facilities to fall into long-term decline, leaving our neighbourhoods dark and unusable as we enter the winter months ahead.
Broken street lamps are not just a safety issue, but one of accessibility and pride in our local area. Everyone deserves well-lit, safe streets all year-round, to walk, run, talk and play on.
Living Rent Govanhill members have had enough!
We demand that George Gillespie (Executive Director of Neighbourhoods, Regeneration & Sustainability):
  • Fix all the broken lights in our neighbourhood
  • Ensure long-term investment is made up to the upkeep and maintenance of street lights
Sign this petition, report any broken street light & join Living Rent today.
