Living Rent Dennistoun fundraiser

Join us for an evening full of incredible artists to raise funds for Living Rent Tenants Union. Come together with fellow community members on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 19:00 at The Old Hairdressers (Renfield Lane, Glasgow, G2 5AR).

Music from:

Dallas Love Feild: Glasgow-based 4 piece Shoegaze/Dreampop band, inspired by the likes of Diiv, Ringo Deathstarr, Nothing and Slowdive.

Sunspots: Post-rock for existential Sunday mornings.

Eloi: Eloi are a 7-piece Edinburgh-based band playing a genre-hopping style of jazz. Their sound is based on searing melodic vocal and horn lines and grooves influenced by afrobeat, fusion, funk and ne-soul. They build their sound with rich textures, featuring layered vocal harmonies and intertwining bass, guitar and keys rhythms. They move seamlessly between synchronized, grooving riffs and freer improvised lines.

Poetry from:

Oliver Robertson: Oliver Robertson (He/Him) is a worker, poet and spoken word artist from Wellpark in Glasgow's East End. Oliver was selected for the BBC Words First Scheme in 2020 and since then has taken his words to new audiences performing at Eden, Push the Boat Out and Hidden Door Festivals. He has performed at many nights over the years as well as being a featured act at Loud Poets Greenock and Rock the Boat Out. Oliver was published by Spec Books in Retail Opportunity Zine in 2022. In 2023, Oliver became the inaugural Scottish Book Trust New Writers Awardee for Spoken Word. His writing is centered around experiences of growing up in the East End of Glasgow.

Ying Lei Lee: A zealous inspiring creative writer channeling all types of writing; short stories, spoken word, lyricist. Ying writes about the mind, the supernatural, politics, empowerment, torn love, being in love, war, addictions, safe housing, working class struggles and anything that evokes the human consciousness.
