Campaign Planning - Use Tourist Tax to Fund our Homes and Community.

Saturday November 11th 3pm - 5pm at St. Margarets. Arrive 10 mins early. All members welcome!

Edinburgh City Council is introducing a new tourist levy, also known as a tourist tax. This will generate extra income for the council, there is a consultation about where this money should be spent. At Living Rent we are saying that this money should be invested back into the council housing stock and community services. Tourism and Edinburgh City Centre is often priortised, whilst our homes are cold, mouldy, empty and our parks dark and underfunded. Tourism has also perpetuated the housing crisis in Edinburgh and this is a chance to find solutions for the residents and workers of this city.

This is our chance to have a say over our homes and the city, all members are welcome to join the training. If you are not a member yet and would like to join, you can do so here: livingrent.org/join

If you have any access needs, or questions about the day get in touch with Sinead and we will see if we can work somethig out to suit you :)
