Open meeting on rent controls!

Come along to our open meeting on rent controls!

On 11 October, members will be meeting in Ibrox parish church in Glasgow, to plan how we fight to ensure tenants are protected until rent controls take effect, and plan to ensure that rent controls are as watertight and strong for tenants as possible.

Though rent controls are being voted on on 24 September, it will be 2027 before any local authority is able to declare a rent pressure zone. Until then, tenants will remain at the mercy of their landlords. We need to push the government to do more.

Alongside this, though the the Housing Bill is a huge step forward, landlords have been able to lobby the government to introduce exemptions that exclude all mid market tenants and tenants in build to rent developments. We need to fight back.

Keen to get involved in the campaign to ensure that tenants across Scotland are able to live in a safe, secure, affordable home? Come along to this meeting and let's ensure that no tenant is forced out of their home by landlords until rent controls take effect.
