Planning Democracy x Living Rent Training - Edinburgh

Planning Democracy x Living Rent Training in Edinburgh, Tuesday 20th 6-9pm, Quaker Meeting House.

Across Scotland Living Rent members have been running campaigns around planning from Short Term Lets in the Highlands and Edinburgh to fighting the building of student and luxury flats in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The fights have all been focused around 1 things, the needs for good quality, accessible affordable housing and community spaces. Through them we have learnt about democracy, the power developers have and what it takes for people to have a say over our homes, villages, towns and cities.

During this session we are pairing up with Planning Democracy, to share skills between our organisations and identify areas to work on. There is limited space as this session so if you can RSVP. Agenda tbc.

Accessibility of venue: The building is fully accessible with a ramp at the front door, a lift to all floors and accessible toilets. Induction loop facilities are available in the main rooms. We are well-equipped with audio-visual equipment and there is free encrypted Wi-Fi.

Planning Democracy is a community-led organisation campaigning to strengthen the voice and influence of the public in the planning and development of Scotland’s land, aimin to deepen democratic control and promote environmental justice. see more here
