Join us on Monday August 24th 5.30 - 7.30 to let Edinburgh City Council know we need action on Road Safety.
We have been pushing Edinburgh City council to improve road safety in Lochend, by installing safe crossings and improving road conditions, to keep us and our families safe. Many of us have experienced near misses and accidents and we cannot wait any longer.
We have invited all local councillors and transport leaders to attend a public meeting to hear your experiences and make commitments to take real action.
We are asking for
- Overall: We would like the area assessed as a whole, to ensure the right interventions happen
- Safe Crossing Infrastructure on Sleigh Drive and Sleigh Drive roundabout.
- Safe Crossing Infrastructure near St Ninians Primary School & Shops at Restalrig Road South
- Safe Crossing Infrastructure on Lochend Road South (near shops) and Lochend Road South Roundabout (near Lochend Park)
- Other areas of concern are Craigentinny Road (near boxing gym) and near Prospect Bank School, we would like an assessment of these areas for traffic calming and safety measures
- Overall: Better visibility of 20mph zone across the whole area, improvement of road surfaces and traffic calming measures
Everyone is welcome to attend and young people are welcome to attend and take part in the discussions.
Under Under 16s should be accompanied by a parent, guardian or youth worker.
