Save Langside Halls - Shawlands Needs a Community Centre, Day of action

Langside Halls is one of the few remaining community spaces for residents in Shawlands and the Southside of Glasgow. The building has been closed since 2017 and has undergone major repairs at council tax payer’s expense. Despite the scaffolding being removed in May 2021, the future of our Halls is still uncertain.

The building is owned by Glasgow City Council and therefore the people of Glasgow. Ownership is being transferred to the Langside Hall Trust, out of council control, whose recent online consultation showed that local residents want the hall to reopen for the same purpose it was previously used for. What will happen to Langside Halls?

Join Living Rent’s rally on Saturday 26th June, 1pm to demand answers about the future of our community space.
