After months of organising to defend their neighbours from home, it’s time for Shawlands Living Rent members to get together again! 

In July, members were out serving notice to landlords and letting agencies that they will not be accepting any evictions as a result of Covid 19. More recently, they have set up stalls in different parts of Shawlands to talk to tenants and residents about issues they faced in the area. The local Member Defence team is currently defending members whose landlords are threatening to evict them in the midst of a pandemic! 

With more and more interest in the union locally, September’s branch meeting is an opportunity for members to get together and make plans for building neighbourhood power in our area over the coming months.  

This meeting will be held online using zoom.
