Tourist Tax Glasgow: who is it for?

View down George Street, Glasgow with George Square on the left side and pink banners hung reading "People make Glasgow" with the St George's Tron Church on Nelson Mandela place at the very end of the street

Glasgow City Council is currently holding a public consultation over the introduction of a 5% visitor levy on overnight stays in the city.

The introduction of such tourist tax could generate around £12 million per year. The question is what will this income be spent on? Housing? Public services?

Living Rent Glasgow will take part in the consultation and we are organising this meeting so we can agree on our demands and make sure that this visitor's levy benefits the people and residents of Glasgow.

The meeting will be held online (RSVP to get the zoom link, check your spams) on Thursday 27th, 7pm and will last one hour.
